Safety Joint: Shear and Rotational Type

The Safety Joint allows positive release of the tubing string in completions where retrieval problems are anticipated. These safety joints are available in straight pull shear release, rotational release.

Shield SRSJ – Rotational Safety Joint

The RST Rotational Safety Joint is an optional tool which aids in removal of the tubing or back off device, if the packer becomes stuck. To initiate release of the safety joint, a tension sleeve must be parted by pulling on the tubing. However, this action alone is not sufficient to release the joint but must be followed by application of vertical and rotational movement for complete release of the safety joint.
