Shield-SV Surge Valve

Surge valve is a full opening annulus pressure operated valve for cased wells. The tool normally operates as a back-pressure valve. The valve consists of two sections: the ball valve section and the working piston section.

Shield-SV Surge Valve – Special Features

• The ball valve section contains a ball valve that provides an upper barrier to the tubing. The operating piston section contains a power unit and generates the required force to move the ball valve to open position.
• When the tool enters the well, the ball valve of the HP Surge valve and the PR lower valve isolate the main surge chamber. Once the lower valve is triggered, the chamber is filled with formation fluid. Then the HP surge valve can be triggered by pressurizing from annulus to break the rupture disc.
